Kim O’Brien

Kim and her family recently relocated to the Chattanooga area after living in Las Vegas for 25 years. After spending a year in Belgium as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in high school, Kim became hooked on experiencing other cultures and learning other languages. Before graduating from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a degree in Spanish Secondary Education with a minor in French, Kim took advantage of study abroad opportunities. She spent a summer in Oaxaca, Mexico, and a year studying at la Catolica in Quito, Ecuador.  Kim also has a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University in Massachusetts as well as a TESOL endorsement.

During her career, Kim has taught Spanish, English Language Learners, French and Special Education.  She even spent a year teaching with the Hamilton County School District prior to joining us as CSL. Some of Kim’s favorite activities involve scouting out new, international television series to practice her language skills, walking the hilly streets of Signal Mountain with her AussieDoodle (and husband!), and spending time with her family and new friends.
